We’re opening Signal Savvy Investor to its first twenty users as part of the Founding Tester Program launching today.
The platform is built and working. Before we make it generally available, we want a small group of people to use it properly, as part of how they actually research shares, not as a demo and tell us what’s wrong with it.
That’s the Founding Tester Program: eight weeks, twenty places, free access, lifetime discount, in exchange for honest feedback.
Why we built this
If you invest in ASX shares yourself, you already know the problem. The information exists, but it’s scattered.
Fundamentals live on one site. Price history lives on another. Whether the market is calm or lurching lives somewhere else entirely, usually in a headline written to alarm you. Comparing three companies on the criteria you care about means a spreadsheet, six browser tabs, and an hour you’d rather spend elsewhere.
The tools that solve this properly are built for institutions and priced accordingly. The tools built for retail investors mostly stop at a screener with a dozen filters and a list of “top movers”, which tells you what happened, not what fits the way you invest.
We wanted something in between: analytical depth aimed at someone who does their own research, without the institutional price tag or the institutional interface.
What Signal Savvy Investor does
Screening on your criteria.
Rank ASX companies on momentum over a lookback period you choose, combined with a quality score built from fundamentals. Filter by volatility. Set the thresholds yourself rather than accepting someone else’s defaults.

Side-by-side comparison.
Put candidates next to each other on the same metrics, instead of opening three tabs and holding the numbers in your head.

Detailed deep dive.
The Details view puts a company’s full picture on one screen: factor scores, returns across four periods, valuation, and balance sheet strength, so you’re not reconciling four sources to answer one question. Every figure is calculated from third-party data and reported as-is; the platform doesn’t tell you what any of it means for your portfolio.

Market context.
A composite read on market conditions: the ASX volatility index, realised volatility, the XJO against its 125-day moving average, market breadth, the safe-haven spread, and the ratio of 52-week highs to lows, plus a volatility regime classification. Not a prediction. A description of the conditions you’re currently operating in.

An important note on what all of that is and isn’t. Every output is a calculation applied to data. A company at the top of a ranking is not being recommended to you; it scored highest on the criteria you set. We don’t give financial advice and we don’t tell anyone what to buy. The distinction matters to us and it should matter to you.
What the pilot involves
Eight weeks.
Long enough to use the platform through a few market moves and form a real opinion, short enough that we can act on what you tell us while you’re still around to see it.
Free access throughout.
No subscription, and we won’t ask for payment details at any point during the program.
A Founding Tester discount.
As a member of the Founding Tester program, if you complete the program, you’ll get 50% off the standard subscription price, for as long as your subscription stays active, when we introduce paid plans. We’ll tell you the price before anything begins, and nobody gets charged automatically.
What we ask in return.
A short survey or twenty minute phone call once a month, and a bug report when something breaks. That’s the whole commitment.
Who we’re looking for
People who already buy and sell individual ASX shares and have a research process of their own. If you manage an SMSF, or you hold a decent number of individual companies and review them regularly, you’re the person we built this for.
We’re being specific about this for a reason. Twenty people is a hard cap set by how many feedback conversations two of us can genuinely have in eight weeks, so we’d rather have twenty people whose process we can learn from than a hundred casual signups.
If you’re mostly in ETFs, or you’re just getting started, this particular program isn’t the right fit. There’ll be a free tier when we launch, and you’ll get first access to it.
Common questions
Is this financial advice?
No. Signal Savvy Investor provides factual information and analytical tools. We don’t make recommendations, we don’t know your circumstances, and nothing on the platform accounts for them. Every decision remains yours.
Do I have to pay anything as a Founding Tester?
No. Not during the pilot, and not afterwards unless you choose to subscribe, in which case a 50% discount off the regular pricing will be available indefinitely to you as a Founding Tester.
What happens to my feedback?
We use it to build. We won’t publish anything you tell us in a way that identifies you without asking you first.
Will you show me your returns?
No, and be wary of anyone in this space who does. We publish factual metrics, not performance claims.
Can I talk about it publicly?
Please do! We’d only ask you to check with us before posting screenshots of features that aren’t released yet.
How to apply
The application is eight questions and takes about two minutes. The one that matters most asks what you currently use to research ASX shares and what frustrates you about it. A specific, honest answer there counts for more than anything else on the form.
We read every application ourselves and reply either way within five business days.
Founding Tester applications close when the twenty places are filled, or 30 September 2026, whichever comes first.
